Ionospheric Plasma Fluctuations Induced by the NWC Very Low Frequency Signal Transmitter

چکیده

The Australian NWC (North West Cape) signal transmitter is known to strongly interfere with the topside ionosphere. We analyze 456 conjunctions between Swarm A, B and NWC, in addition 58 NorSat-1 NWC. in-situ measurements provided by these satellites include 16 Hz Advanced Plasma Density data set, novel 1,000 plasma density from m-NLP system aboard NorSat-1. subject a detailed PSD analysis subsequent superposed epoch analysis. This allows us present comprehensive statistics of NWC-induced fluctuations, both their scale-dependency, climatology. result should be seen context VLF transmitter-induced where we find counter-evidence for existence turbulent structuring induced transmitter.

Broadband very low frequency measurement of D region ionospheric perturbations caused by lightning electromagnetic pulses

[1] Prompt early/fast perturbations on narrowband sub-ionospherically propagating very low frequency (VLF) signals are the primary evidence for the direct coupling of energy released by lightning discharge to the lower ionosphere. Different mechanisms have been advanced to explain the fast ionospheric perturbations, such as heating and ionization from the lightning electromagnetic pulse (EMP) a...

Spontaneous low-frequency fluctuations in the BOLD signal in schizophrenic patients: anomalies in the default network.

Spontaneous low-frequency fluctuations in the blood oxygen level-dependent (BOLD) functional magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) signal have been shown to reflect neural synchrony between brain regions. A "default network" of spontaneous low-frequency fluctuations has been described in healthy volunteers during stimulus-independent thought. Negatively correlated with this network are regions activ...

Modeling Acoustic Signal Fluctuations Induced by Sea Surface Roughness

An empirical fetch-limited ocean wave spectrum has been combined with an acoustic ray-based model to predict the acoustic signal time-angle fluctuations induced by sea surface roughness. Rough sea surface realizations are generated and used as sea surface boundaries with the acoustic model. To validate this model, results are compared against experimental data collected in a fetch limited regio...

Removing Ionospheric Corruption from Low Frequency Radio Arrays

The EOR is believed to be the time during which the intergalactic medium (IGM), which consisted entirely of neutral hydrogen, was reionized by the first stellar and quasistellar objects. As such, it represents an important era in the history of the universe; however, direct observations of the EOR are currently near impossible. Because of the Gunn-Peterson effect the EOR is difficult to study a...

Energy fluctuations induced by stochastic frequency changes in atom traps

Fluctuations of the electromagnetic fields used to trap or to modify the quantum state of trapped atoms are an important source of decoherence and limit the feasibility of manipulating atomic quantum states. This fact has given a renewed interest in the study of the effects of classical stochastic fields on quantum systems, in particular, the understanding of noise-induced heating in atom traps...
